Frequently Asked qUESTIONS
Answers to Your Questions About Furniture, Cabinetry, Cutting Boards, and More
Whether you’re interested in custom furniture, handcrafted cabinetry, or a one-of-a-kind wood gift, it’s normal to have questions. Here you’ll find honest, down-to-earth answers about how it all works, from design and materials to pricing and timelines.
What kinds of custom woodworking projects do you offer?
I build a wide range of custom pieces, including cabinetry, furniture, cutting boards, shelving, built-ins, shadow boxes, and personalized gifts. Whether it’s a full kitchen project or a one-of-a-kind anniversary gift, each item is handcrafted from reclaimed or responsibly sourced wood.
Do you really make everything by hand?
I sure do. Every single piece is built by me, with no outsourcing and no shortcuts. From the design to the final finish, you’re working directly with the guy who’s building your project.
How much does a custom woodworking project cost?
It depends on the size, materials, and complexity of the project. Smaller items like cutting boards or keepsake boxes may start around $75–$150, while larger built-ins or cabinetry projects are priced individually. I provide honest, upfront estimates so there are no surprises.
What’s the typical turnaround time?
Most projects take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to complete. Lead times depend on the scope of the work and how many projects I’m currently working on. I’ll always give you a realistic timeline based on your specific project.
Do you use reclaimed wood?
Absolutely. I work with reclaimed and upcycled wood whenever possible, and some of it even comes from my family farm in Pennsylvania. These materials bring natural character and history to each piece while supporting sustainable practices.
Can I customize the design or wood type?
Yes! Every project is designed around your needs and preferences. You can choose the type of wood, dimensions, finish, and any custom details, and I’ll guide you through the options during our consultation.
Do you deliver or ship?
I offer local delivery in the New Port Richey and Tampa Bay area, and some smaller items can be shipped within the U.S. Delivery or pickup details are always discussed up front, based on the size and nature of your piece.
What if I only have a rough idea of what I want?
That’s totally fine. You don’t need a blueprint, just a spark of inspiration. I’ll help you clarify the vision and turn it into something real and functional.
Do you offer furniture repair or restoration?
Yes. I can repair or restore damaged wood furniture, including tightening joints, fixing structural issues, and refinishing worn surfaces. It’s a great option if you want to preserve a meaningful piece instead of replacing it.
